The forecast today was overcast with a F5. I set off not knowing exactly where I was going and taking a very strange route as I was hedging my bets. I had thought about Hayling but then thought it might be a bit better further east as Hayling seemed to be getting less wind than either the Solent or the Sussex coast. So in the end I arrived at Worthing. I drove around looking for spots, surveyed the cafe but the sea had disappeared and saw sails out further west. Drove along the coast road and stopped by a big greensward.

It looked windy so I rigged the 4.7 wave board combo and that was spot on. Didn't stay out too long as I've been pushing the body recently and it was quite hard work today (for me). Gybes in particular were very wet.

But it was great fun and some good ramps in particular. The boom slipped down a couple of times which has a really marked effect on planing - i.e. you don't.

More tomorrow?
